Books I Love

Nora Roberts – although I read her paranormals, I’m a sucker for her romantic suspense stories. MIND GAMES came out in May, 2024 and HIDDEN NATURE came out in May, 2025. I also think her J.D. Robb characters, Eve and Roark, are the best hero and heroine ever!
Jayne Ann Krentz – again I love her Amanda Quick historicals, too, but I jump on her romantic suspenses with a little paranormal tied in. THE NIGHT ISLAND came out in January, 2024. SHATTERING DAWN came out January 2025 – I enjoyed them both!
Julie Garwood – I enjoy all her work, but I have a collection called “Old Friends,” and I reread her old historicals whenever I need a comfort read. THE BRIDE, THE SECRET, THE PRIZE, and the list goes on.
Sandra Brown is another fav. BLOOD MOON (March 2025) – a very complex story with lots of twists and turns. It will keep you guessing until the very end. 😊
Kristin Hannah’s THE WOMEN is a story that touched me deeply. It will affect you for years to come.
COLTON’S K-9 RESCUE by Colleen Thompson (Harlequin – December, 2024)

Malcolm Colton and Giselle Dowling share the common tragedy of the loss of his fiancé and her sister, Kate, in a boating accident three and a half years ago. I was so impressed with Colleen Thompson’s ability to weave a deep and lovely relationship between Malcolm and Giselle, totally separate from their individual and shared caring for Kate. The deep emotional intensity of these two love-worthy characters finding their own romance is infused with lots of action in this fast-paced romantic suspense.

Prior to this one, I really enjoyed the Lost Legacy Series, DANGER AT CLEARWATER CROSSING, AMBUSH AT HEARTBREAK RIDGE, and SECRETS OF LOST HOPE CANYON

ETERNAL SHADOWS (Spiceland Press – October 2022)

Great story! Rap and Selene are both complex, yet fun and likeable characters. The plot to this romantic fantasy had me doing double takes with its depth and energy. The fate of the human world is in their hands, and sometimes exactly who are the good guys fighting for us humans is hard to pinpoint!

I’m relatively new to this author but find that I really love her stories. She’s got me hooked! Enjoy the read.

I picked up one of her older ones, A TASTE OF DARKNESS. Fabulous book!!

As much as I enjoy Women’s Fiction, I seem to read a lot of romantic suspense and paranormal stuff, too!

THE VAMPIRE WHO LOVED ME by Gerry Bartlett (Dragon Lady Publishing – October, 2024)

Wow! If you’re looking for an action-packed read, with a healthy dose of good versus evil, this is it. An old trouble-making ex of vampire Miguel is planting stories in writer California’s mind. Her books are best-sellers, but the vampire information showing up in them is a bit too real for the vampire world to enjoy. Miguel shows up at her house to save her buns about the time the bad guys are fixing to take her out. So he whisks her and her cute, yappy little dog off into the night. This begins an amazing adventure with so many twists and turns, it makes your head spin (in a good way).

Gerry Bartlett’s Real Vampire world is filled with gutsy characters who, if you ever find yourself in a battle in the paranormal world, you really want on your side. Throw in Miquel’s powerful dad, his two adopted sons, and a few other fun characters, including his sis, Glory, and it’s a toss-up who’s going to make it out alive. Very exciting and imaginative story!!

I have enjoyed every Glory book I’ve ever read! They’re all winners.

Leslie Marshman – writes good solid romantic suspense about Texas. I’ve enjoyed her Protectors of Boone County series – RESOLUTE JUSTICE is in my Kindle on my ‘soon to be read’ list!
